The Theewaterskloof Inflatable Club Event!

The Theewaterskloof Inflatable Club event was held this past weekend with an impressive entry of 57 boats. The event consisted out of a flat water circuit on Sat 1st Feb and a 108km long haul on the 2nd Feb.

We are incredibly proud of Carla Engelbrecht and her younger sister, Carien (Team S11), for securing a 2nd place overall in the long haul race. It was their first ever race together as a team…..what an outstanding achievement!

Their mentor and racing coach, Marc Gleed, along with co-pilot JD van Niekerk (Team M11), dominated the field in the 108km long haul and finished 1st overall in the Mod Class. Just to note: It was the maiden voyage for both Team S11 and M11 who raced the new Mako Enduro powered by 50HP Yamaha motors.

But the winning didn’t stop there! The previous day Team Mako delivered an exceptional performance in the MOD final of the circuit race event:

• Rocco Erasmus (M4) secured 1st place with a Mako Atomic
• Dwayne van der Vyver (M71) achieved 2nd place, also racing a Mako Atomic.
• Gideon Siecker (M99) achieved 3rd place with a Mako Evolution.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone that took part as Team Mako’s and for what they achieved over the weekend. It’s a testament to the fact that no matter which Mako boat you choose, you’ll find yourself on the podium!
