The Gariep National 2025: How Team Mako Helps Out Wherever We Can!

Team Mako made the long journey from Cape Town to the Gariep Dam near Bloemfontein to take part in this year’s Gariep Nationals. It was a long drive, but that didn’t stop us from bringing the energy!

One team drove all the way from Malmesbury and competed with a Mako racing boat. Mark Louw, Director of Mako Marine Africa, along with Team Rusgenot racer Marc Gleed, quickly noticed that this team wasn’t fully prepared and that their setup could benefit from a few tweaks.

Not only did Team Mako offer advice, they even went the extra mile by helping shift their motors and sharing some of their equipment. After being under Team Mako’s wing for the day, the team ended up performing really well!

One thing’s for sure: nobody does it quite like Team Mako.
